There are hundreds of changes to the tax code annually. The majority of taxpayers, however, only become aware of these changes when they prepare their taxes in February or March (or on April 15th). Some of these changes introduce consumer incentives, while others eliminate tax breaks taxpayers have taken advantage of for years. Regardless, there is an undeniable affect that the tax code can have on consumer decisions. It is crucial to stay aware of these changes throughout the year in order to take advantage of the benefits they may provide.
Through this blog, it is our goal to build awareness of recent changes (and proposed changes) to the tax code, while making often complex issues palatable for the average taxpayer. It is also our goal to, whenever possible, provide unique tax and financial planning advice for taxpayers struggling to gain footing in the harsh economic climate.
